Can a DVD burner also copy CDs?

It is highly unlikely you will find a DVD burner that is unable to also burn CDs. As a general rule, manufacturers like to make their products backwards compatible to maintain convenience for consumers. Several leading consumer electronics companies have already ensured their new Blu-Ray drives (due to be released later this year) can also burn DVDs and CDs, allowing you to have control over all those media types through just one drive.
