Save money on silver

Can I use normal discs for thermal printing?

As a general rule it is possible to use cheaper silver topped discs with thermal printers. Even an Everest 2 seems to work with budget discs. You should be aware, however, that some discs might have a moulded raised area near to the stacking ring that can damage the expensive, non warranty covered print heads.
